We reported on Gay Blackstone’s exciting new project to bring Magic to television this winter in our multi-award winning, November 13, 2008 edition of Inside Magic.
Ms. Blackstone announced she would soon be taping the 13 episodes for the Fox MyChannel network and invited Inside Magic readers to attend.
We received inquiries from readers about the performers committed to appear on the series and are happy to report Mark and Shelia Cannon will be taping their contribution tomorrow, November 20th.
Ms. Blackstone has always had a special place in our pantheon of Magic Greats.
Similarly, Mark and Shelia Cannon are exactly what we hope to be when we grow up — well at least Mark Cannon. We have worked through many issues related to maturity and gender role models.
Mark and Shelia Cannon put on one of the best Escape shows we have ever seen and we have seen plenty.
Their on-stage personae genuinely reflect their off-stage ethos of hard work, sincerity and incredible skill.
Theirs is one of the very few acts to bring our blood pressure into the very unsafe range. We were worried sick until it was over and Mark Cannon emerged alive.
On November 20th, Mark and Shelia Cannon will memorialize their fantastic work for the cameras and a national audience. They would like you to be there as well.
Here is there invitation to Inside Magic Readers:
We would love to have you in the audience as our guest to share this very special event. This event is for everyone, so please bring the whole family (although no one under the age of 5, please)!
The television taping will take place on November 20 at Renmar Studios in Hollywood – 846 North Cahuenga Blvd.
The tapings will begin at 7:00 pm – 9:15 pm but all guests should arrive no later than 6:30 pm. as seating will begin at that time.
Production assistants will be coordinating all invited audience members when they arrive to the studio, but everyone must enter from a very specific entrance.
After you find street parking (sorry, no lot! Please allow plenty of time to find parking) then all guests must enter through the security gate on Waring Avenue – see map below.
Production assistants will be lining guests up outside on the sidewalk, and then escorting you into the studio as it gets closer to show time.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Karen at (909) 792-1227 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
She will answer your questions and get you all the information you need.
Karen gave us permission to publish her contact information on Inside Magic.
If you are anywhere near Hollywood tomorrow, November 20th, be sure to attend the filming. Let us know how it it went and whether you said a silent prayer as you waited for escape’s safe conclusion.
Be sure to check out the premier website for the working or aspiring escape artist, Cannon’s Great Escapes. It is literally the one-stop shop for picks, tools, cuffs, books, advice, and stage-sized effect rentals.
