Darren Romeo Heads East for Special Engagement. Darren Romeo, magician, singer, and “Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year,” brings his critically acclaimed show to the New York area, on the campus of Hofstra University for 5 performances only.

This show marks a homecoming for Romeo who grew up in East Meadow and attended Hofstra and appeared in The Fantastics off-Broadway before being discovered by the legendary Siegfried & Roy.

And wait, there is more good news, Mr. Romeo has just signed a multi-million dollar four-year a multi-million dollar contract with Branson?s Welk-Sullivan shows. He will be booked in Branson for four years and from what I have heard, he has a great theater for his outstanding show.

If you have not seen Darren Romeo perform, you need to load up the kids and go to Branson to see it. It is an incredible m?lange of music and magic. It is truly beautiful to watch.

His shows at Hofstra are at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse: September 24 at 8 pm; the 25^th at 2 and 8 pm and on the 26^th at 2 and 7 pm.

Ellis in Wonderland and More. We have great news from our friends down under, Tim Ellis and Sue-Anne Webster will finally release their lectures ?Ellis in Wonderland? and ?24 Years of Living Next Door To Ellis? on DVD.

Mr. Ellis and Ms. Webster possess an incredible ability to bring their ideas to life and these two lectures are perfect examples of that talent. The DVDs are not shot live at the lectures, but rather video ‘interpretations’ of the lectures. We’ve really tried to use the medium of video (especially in 24 YEARS) to take the feeling and content of both lectures and build on them.

As well as the lecture content, each DVD has a series of BONUS FEATURES including pieces on Thumbtips, Floorshow Tips, Strolling Magic Openings, MagicSports, Black Art, a Road Trip Movie, our promotional tape, plus heaps more INCLUDING 6 Card Rap Music Videos.

The Wonderland Lecture runs well over 3 hours, and the 24 Years lecture is just under 3 hours.

I am very excited to learn they will also release a DVD of teaching Runaround Sue. This was Mr. Ellis? FISM Award Winning routine and is, in my opinion, the best there is. Ms. Webster will release the Black Light through Penguin Magic and Mr. Ellis will also finally release The Tim Card Poker Deal.

The duo are scheduled to perform at The Magic Castle April 4-10 2005 (Ms. Webster performing as ‘Jeannie’, and Mr. Ellis performing close-up.). Rumor has it that Mr. Ellis and Ms. Webster will lecture at the Castle on April 10^th.

David Copperfield?s Deposition on the Net. I am a trial attorney for a living. It?s what I do and I love it. So when I heard David Copperfield?s videotaped deposition was on the web, at Celebrity Justice, I had to see it. I think he does an outstanding job.

His opponent in the case, John Melk, is suing the illusionist for tricking him in an attempt to buy an island.

The plaintiff alleges Mr. Copperfield used a made-up company to represent him in the purchase. Mr. Copperfield has countersued alleging that Mr. Melk improperly attacked the Magician?s reputation on the Melk website. He was especially miffed about the ?one involving ex-fianc? and supermodel Claudia Schiffer. ?It’s the one that plagues every single male who has success and is not married,? says Copperfield in the deposition. ?That you’re not straight.??

Mr. Copperfield is represented by the outstanding H. Peter Haveles, Jr. of Arnold and Porter. He clearly has the right counsel in the case and I predict a win, based on the deposition alone.
