Finals this Weekend |
The Daily Post reports that a North Wales magician has made the finals for the UK’s top conjuror.
Joshua Bartley is just 15 years old but has made it to the top 21 who will battle for the Young Magician of the Year final at the Magic Circle’s Head Quarters on Sunday.
Mr. Bartley worked his way through several smaller competitions to get to this spot. “This spot” is quite the spot. On Sunday, he’ll perform for a panel of experts at the Magic Circle in London.
Mr. Bartley said: “I won’t be nervous as I absolutely love a crowd and can’t get enough of that kind of environment.” His first routine will be about ten minutes long and if he makes it to the next round, he’ll have to cut the act down.
Is he handicapped by the type of magic he needs to perform? After all, he is known for his close-up but the contest focuses on stage work.
We doubt he’ll be hindered in the least. Anyone who says they “can’t get enough of” final rounds judged by the best in our business has got the stuff to get it done no matter the requirements. As we say in the US, he’ll “get it done.”
Mr. Bartley has been performing for over a third of his life — he’s fifteen now and started his public shows at ten years of age.
“My ambition is to be a professional magician and I won’t give up.
