Oh Eun Young – Our Favorite Korean Magician |
The International Festival of Magic is set to start this week in beautiful Singapore. The festival will be held at the Kallang Theatre and feature shows for the public in addition to the magicians’ only presentations.
Lawrence Khong, Magician and Big Cheese of the Conclave, told Channel News Asia reporters he almost did not make it to this week, much less the festival. While performing an underwater escape recently, he forgot to take into account the venue’s altitude and thinner air.
“We were performing in Genting for two weeks and because Genting is on a high ground, the air is thinner. We have this perfect timing. Before I run out of air I need to make the escape. But I didn’t realise the air thinner so I was trapped in there, running out of air before I was ready to get out. I knew I was in trouble and I started to bang the glass.”
This year’s International Festival of Magic promises three nights of world class acts by renowned magicians.
There will also be an Asian professional magic challenge where skilled magicians from China, Japan, Thailand and Singapore will pit their skills against one another.
Our favorite Korean Magician, Oh Eun Young, will be there and we wish we could be too. Johnny Thompson and Murray, the Guy with the CDs will be appearing as well.
For those who want to discover the secrets behind the magic can also sign up for the convention and pick up some tips from the 170 international professionals that will be performing here.
