Bob Elliott passed away this morning. The last time I saw him was on Thanksgiving day, November 25. He was in a hospital bed, under hospice care in his own home, and surrounded by family. He was sleeping, but when he woke up, his eyes were clear and serene. The last thing he said to me was “God Bless”.
For many decades, the Elliotts were at the heart of the New York magic scene. They helped run Tannen’s Magic Camp. They booked lecture tours, gave food and shelter to the rising stars of Magic, and never asked for a penny in return. You see, they already had day jobs, Bob working as a Mining Engineer and Happy working as a Stock Broker.
Eventually they retired and moved to the West Coast. Their children grew up and prospered. The Elliotts lived in a beautiful home on a hill, with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. When they relocated to Oceanside, California, they continued their sharing ways.
Visit Mr. Johnson’s website at www.magicianbobelliott.com to read about Bob and Happy’s life and career in Magic. The site features pages upon pages of fascinating information about this amazing magician who happened to be an unusually kind and good man.
Our prayers are with his family and thousands of friends and fans who likely never knew or could anticipate knowing a world without him.
