Mr. Burts, Mr. Sethand Mr. Noonan are featured in San Jacinto?s The Press-Enterprise today with a neat article about the Hemet High School Illusionist club that now has over 50 members.

Mr. Burts is quite an entrepreneur and organizer. Under his leadership, the high school club moved from lunch-time conclaves to sponsoring the Hypno-Magic Show starring Messrs. Noonan andSeth.

So how do you go from being the guy who liked magic, did some for friends in school, to producing a big time show, starting a club that teaches and acquires magic and encouraging others?

Like all of us, Mr. Burts received magic sets, learned basic tricks and then sort of let the Magic take a back shelf for a bit. Then he witnessed David Blaine on television.

Like all of us, Mr. Burts received magic sets, learned basic tricks and then sort of let the Magic take a back shelf for a bit. Then he witnessed David Blaine on television.

It should be no shock that this young man of action and initiative called the network to learn how to contact Mr. Blaine. He wanted tips on how to get in the Magic Business.

David Blaine

The television star wrote to Mr. Burts and encouraged him by saying ?everyone is born with the ability to do something and his was to entertain people.? This kind comment from Mr. Blaine was all he needed to get back to work. He wanted to master every trick he could find.

His high school classmates noted two things about Mr. Burts, he was good at what he did and he had a talent for teaching and explaining. He took it upon himself to develop the Illusionist Club. Mr. Burts explained the concept of the club to the Press-Enterprise: about 50 members meet each Thursday at lunch to watch and learn tricks. ?There is no cost to join and everybody?s welcome.?

His fellow members in the Illusionist Club handled the behind the scenes work for the Hypno-Illusion Show from stagehands to concession sales.

Just as Mr. Burts has been inspired, he seeks to inspire members to be ?entrepreneurs? and ?magicians.? After all, if they intend to be magicians, they will have to know how to run their own business. In fact, Mr. Burts is running his own Illusions Party Service.

Tim Noonan

The Press-Enterprise reports that most of the $1,500 raised from the Hypno-Magic Show will go to props and future programs for the school. A portion will be donated to the Hemet High?s annual ?Pennies for Patients? to help children with leukemia.

Our Collapsible Top Hats are off to Messrs. Burks, Noonan and Seth. And a special thanks to Mr. Blaine for writing back to this fan and lighting the fire when it needed to be lit. Mr. Burks is the kind of young Magician that makes this Art fun and interesting.

Messrs. Noonan and Seth are the kind of professionals that really deserve a ton of praise. They didn?t need to take time out of their very successful and busy schedule to perform a show for a high school magic club. What an incredible gesture and demonstration of true kindness.

I know one for thing sure, if I ever have a chance to see Mr. Noonan or Mr. Seth, I?m going to grab it. And if I hear of an upcoming show by these gentlemen, you?ll hear about it right away.
