Our prayers go out to Roy and Siegfried after a white Bengal tiger attacked Roy during the duo?s act last night at the Mirage Hotel.
“For more than four decades, I have had the great privilege of standing at the side of this remarkable man, and I will continue to do so during this very challenging time,” Fischbacher said in a statement Saturday. “We are grateful and overwhelmed with the tremendous support we have received from around the world, and ask for your continued prayers and reflection.”
Most of the news outlets are reporting the same story from the AP, but The Independent of England has a very positive article detailing the event but also what Siegfried and Roy have risked over the years and what they have done for the animals and the art they love. Check it out for a more comprehensive view.

Roy Horn was listed in critical condition after the seven year old tiger lunged at him about 45 minutes into the show. The attack occurred after Roy introduced the tiger to the audience and told the sell-out crowd that the 7-year-old male named Montecore was making his stage debut.
Siegfried was with Roy in the hospital throughout the night and the physicians are optimistic that he will recover, says ABC News.
Roy attempted to defend himself by hitting the tiger with a microphone. Witnesses said that Roy was carried off by the tiger and that the magician looked like a ?ragdoll.?
Bobby Baldwin, CEO of Mirage Resorts, said the tiger?s bite just missed Roy?s carotid artery. According to hospital spokeswoman Cheryl Persinger, Roy suffered significant blood loss and underwent several hours of surgery. Roy was conscious and able to talk to the ambulance staff as he was rushed to the hospital.
Siegfried appeared on stage shortly after the event and announced that the show was cancelled. The Mirage later stated that the Siegfried and Roy show was cancelled indefinitely. The two have been performing six shows as week, 44 weeks a year and have been a staple of the Las Vegas entertainment scene for more than 35 years.
Roy just turned 59 on Thursday. The duo signed a lifetime contract with the Mirage Resort in 2001.
