One of the best, very best things about Sergey and his family is their desire to entertain and their complete dedication to magic as an art form. Sergey develops truly innovative material based either on what we?ve all seen for years and have considered old hat or creations developed entirely from his imagination.
I first met Sergey by email almost a year ago when I reported that some had incorrectly attacked him for not only stealing David Copperfield?s effects but that he proposed to perform a show in Vegas where he would expose the effects. I wondered, in print, if that was true, what was the point? You can read that poor piece of reporting here.(It is easy for me to be humble because I make so many mistakes, it’s a learned response).
It turns out it wasn?t true. It wasn?t even a little true. Sergey set me straight and pointed out that he actually appreciated all that David Copperfield had done for our art, would not expose magic secrets and had developed his own routines. His true love for magic was demonstrated by his constant efforts to improve his performances, his desire to stay in touch with magicians around the world and his enormous appreciation for magic as performed in almost any country in the world.
With his new site, Sergey proposes to set up as a portal for magicians to not only learn about his show, his very busy travel schedule but also about other magicians around the world. The site is beautiful. I have been forced to keep it a secret until its official release date of this morning but now I can let the secret out.
One of my favorite things about being in magic is getting to know people around the world, Sergey Korblev?s new portal will allow me to do that and more. Check it out, you?ll not be disappointed.
