Henry Evans – Magician of the Year |
I watched miracle after miracle performed for me as the sole attendee at his dealer’s booth. After doing the Ten Exact Cuts, he told me he had to stop because he was scheduled to lecture in a little bit. I had no clue. Now I do.
I encourage you to visit Henry Evans’ Website ? it is in both Spanish and English ? and sets forth the beginning of what promises to be a very nice site.
It is currently under construction but there is enough there to see the background and rapid rise to international stardom he has accomplished and well-deserved.
I was impressed by two part of the site in particular: the photos and the accomplishments list.
His accomplishments include:
World Champion in Card Magic – FISM 2000 – Lisbon, Portugal.
First Prize in Card Magic – FLASOMA 1992 – Bogota, Colombia.
Third Prize in Card Magic – FISM 1994 – Yokohama, Japan.
Magician of the year 1995 and 2000 – Entidad Magica Argentina.
MVP prize at 2002 4F Convention, Buffalo, USA.
Magic Castle Nominee for Best Lecture 2001.
Last performances and lectures.
AFAP Convention – Vannes, France.
Spain?s National Convention – Granada, Espa?a.
Italy?s National Convention – Abano Terme, Italy.
Hoerbi?s Convention – Zurich, Switzerland.
Harvest of Magic – Atlanta, USA.
Magic Castle – Los Angeles, USA.
IBM Convention – Orlando, USA.
Magic Seminar – Las Vegas, USA.
El Duco Convention – Lund, Sweden
Terca Magica – Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Dino?s Convention – Mexico DF, Mexico.
Gran Jaguar Convention – Guatemala, Guatemala.
Bazar de Magia Convention – Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Lecture tours in Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, and Austria.
But his photos, for me, are even more impressive. Not simply because he is seated beside David Copperfield or Ren? Lavand, but because he looks so excited to be present in the pictures.
He appears to be on the top of the world in the photo where he is pointing to the Magic Castle schedule of performers.
Henry is not just a great inventor, performer and lecturer but is someone who truly cares and loves this art.
We are not worthy but we sure are lucky. He is our Magician of the Year!
