We’re Heading South

We’ve loaded up the animals and equipment into the train cars and heading out of the little hamlet we call Mystic Hollow, Michigan to head south for the South Carolina Association of Magicians? Convention.

It should be outstanding. The shows and lectures scheduled look outstanding and I?ll be snapping pictures and getting them to the web as soon as possible.

Note: No Satellite Dish

I had ordered a satellite system so that I could broadcast from the Inside Magic train as we traveled but it was needed by ESPN to broadcast a re-run of the world?s strongest man contest from six years ago ? you know the one that shows that one big guy lifting something really heavy and carrying it further than that other big guy? I think that was the show. It might have been the one where the one big guy tries to lift something really heavy and holds it longer than the other big guy. I am not sure. But their need was clearly more significant than Inside Magic bringing you the latest from the whistle-stop tour through …

I was going to do a whole David Blaine thing at truck stops by confronting truckers in the bathrooms and their lounges and demanding that they watch me levitate or take a card.

Actually, I think two of the guys that beat the living tar out of me when I tried this in rehearsal yesterday, were on the World?s Strongest Big Guys show. Funny how it all comes together.

The animals are all loaded and I understand the tent has been stowed in the new equipment car we got from a defunct circus that used to travel the Phoenix, AZ to Laughlin, NV route.

Last time I checked, those are the only two cities with more than seven people on the route; no wonder the car is relatively new. Plus, there is no railroad between the two cities; so it?s no wonder the circus is defunct.

Look for Us As We Head South

If you are standing by the railroad between Mystic Hollow, Michigan and Columbia, South Carolina, look for the Inside Magic train. We?ll be the train with the five cars of assistants and workers, one car of animals, two cars of equipment, a tent car and the Pullman car for the performers ? but NO Satellite uplink.

I have often thought this is a lot to bring for a close-up act but I want to be ready in case inspiration hits and I want to replace my awkward Matrix with a close-up version of ?Lady to Tiger? or a subtrunk.

I have no idea what we?ll do with the tent.
