Dewayne Hill: A Good Guy In The Magic World

Dewayne Hill Teaches Magic

Dewayne Hill fell in love in high school — not a novel event. Lots of people fall in love and out of love and then back into love but Dewayne’s love has stayed with him. A substitute teacher at South Charleston, West Virginia took the time to teach Dewayne some card tricks and the directed him towards a few choice magic books. Within months, Dewayne was practicing card tricks for four hours a day and ready for his first big show. He hasn’t looked back since. His shows are clean. He can do the same act in church, minor league ball parks and comedy clubs. There’s not many out there that can say that. Dewayne told a West Virginia newspaper why he loves magic. “I would have to say I am drawn in by the craftsmanship,” Hill said by phone while driving this past Friday between two gigs. “Just that a person with a regular deck of cards can entertain a group for hours — that fact alone is amazing. You say no way, but there it is.”He spends his spare time giving back what he received. He teaches school kids about magic and helps them learn tricks. Great story, great guy, great art. It is nice to see someone with talent and class do so well. Check out the article about Dewayne Hill in the Herald-Dispatch.We’ll put up his webpage on the Links of Fame.
